Liz Anjos, aka “Mercury”, is a distance runner and musician hailing from Portland, Oregon. She co-founded the running team and nonprofit Rose City Track Club and coaches individual runners. She’s a classical pianist and spent five years touring nationally and internationally as a keyboardist and singer with the indie pop act RAC. A runner since the age of 14, Liz became competitive on the roads as an adult with personal records of 36:44 in the 10K, 1:22:43 in the half marathon, and 2:51:34 in the marathon. In December 2019, Liz competed in her first ultramarathon, placing 4th overall woman in the notoriously difficult Hellgate 100K. In early 2020 she set a slew of FKTs (fastest known times) on local trails in Oregon, and in the summer of 2020 Liz set the FKT northbound for women on the Appalachian Trail.
